Governing Structure

The structure of governance of the association is designed to be guided by a Regional Council as its supreme organ, which consists of all office bearers of the National Councils, plus one representative of the organisations/groups involved in the water sector.
The Regional Council members are determined by an election, where a chairperson and a general secretary are elected from amongst the national chairpersons, and the national secretaries respectively.
In constituting the National Councils, the officials are elected by the EAWA members (of a particular member country) at the annual general meeting. The National Council usually consists of a chairperson and a secretary, plus two (2) other elected members, and optionally one (1) co-opted person, not being necessarily a member of the Association.
